Horse or Animal Data
Horse (or Animal) data is that data which defines each horse in a specific race. For example, the horse's name, post position, morning line odds are all elements of Animal Data. Keep in mind that the descriptions given here apply to QuickHorse's Free Data. For descriptions of Pay Data Race Data consult the Brisnet Library here -

Shown below is a screenshot of the list of Animal Data items available while using QuickHorse's Custom Method Builder to build a column. Other Animal Data items are available for export and include the horse's name, jockey, TRAINER and other alphabetic information which can not be used when building a column.

Below find both the QuickHorse Name of the data in bold type, and its description in normal type face. Listed first are those same items as are shown in Figure 1 - see above. There are pages of outing data available to the user when using the Custom Method Builder feature to build a column. For free data, not all items are available as they might be with Pay Data. This is why we have produced this web page in order to make clear the differences between our free data and Brisnet's pay data files. You can use either with QuickHorse.
ANIMAL_FREEDATA - this is simply a flag value of either 0 (meaning that this Animal Data has been converted from Pay Data) or 1 (meaning this Animal Data has been converted from QuickHorse's Free Data).

ANIMAL_BRISPOWER - Bris Power Rating - QuickHorse Free data is not the
same calculation as that of the Bris Pay Data. QuickHorse calculates a
Bris Power Rating as follows: QuickHorse looks up this horses fastest time
in the past 3 races at this distance and racing surface. BrisPower is then
calculated by adding the pace figures (feet per second average velocities) for
CALL1, CALL2, and the Finish Pace (average pace over the entire race). The
sum of these 3 values is then multiplied by a constant depending on how recent
this race was run. If the fastest race was also the most recent race, then
the BrisPower is increased by 5 percent. If the fastest race was 2 races
ago, then the BrisPower is left as is. If the fastest race was 3 races
ago, then the BrisPower is reduced by 2.5 percent. The higher the rating
the better the horse's power.
